Read the book finally focused
Check thyroid
Address mouth breathing and sleep apnea if present
Clean, whole food diet, avoid blood sugar spikes and drops

OT can help, I'd look for someone trained in reflex integration and core strengthening
But it's just one piece

I did it. Def didn’t hurt but the results were short lived, like maybe my child was easier that day .. felt like a bandaid to me.. this was a little kid like 4-5 years old before the real diagnosis came. Also the inattentive type not hyper so that may differ

I’m an OT. How old is the child? I would look for someone who is trained in executive functioning. That can help kid with skills such as planning, organizing, self regulation, working memory, and self regulation. A trained speech therapist can also work on these skills.

Can you give more information? My son was just evaluated and told he could qualify for ot based on all of those concerns, plus sensory. For treatment they told me they will give sensory ot. Do ots also work on executive functioning?

Thank you, do they help with kids who get easily distracted and can’t answer questions after story time for example?
Child when focuses understands what’s going on and is calm just daydreaming all day in school. Much better one on one at home.
