A couple people mentioned her method on a recent weight loss thread. I bought her book because it looked interesting and I have a question for those who follow her method. Her book says that as one of the options for your savory breakfast you can eat as many eggs every morning as you need to keep you full for four hours - "For some people it will be two eggs; for others, six." Doesn't it feel a bit extreme and even unhealthy to eat six eggs a day?

Eggs being unhealthy is a myth from the bygone days when fat was the problem and sugar was ignored.

Can you share some more savory breakfast ideas? I'm allergic to eggs and that seems to be the only protein/savory breakfast food.

So there's really no limit to how much you can have a day according to modern science?

It's not about number, it's about proportion creating a balanced diet. I guarantee you the person who's eating six eggs for breakfast is eating a large lunch and supper also. You wouldn't want your diet to be 1/3 eggs but that's not happening.

I ate six eggs a day for breakfast at one point and ended up with an intolerance to eggs. I couldn't eat them for a year without getting cramps and pain. Eventually I was able to start eating eggs again. I would not make that mistake again.

Oh ok
That makes sense. Thanks!

this actually looks like a good plan. I've been thinking about making a keto oatmeal style mix also.

Nowadays science says eggs are very healthy, no need to limit.
Outdated view that eggs are bad for you.

Oy! This is why I'm happy I asked here before just blindly trying it out. Thank you!

Correct. Eggs are a complete protein and very healthy.
Just because one woman had a reaction to eating so many eggs doesn't mean you will too.
The idea is to eat enough to be satisfied. If that means 6 eggs, so be it. If 4 is enough, go for that.

I do eat a lot of eggs because I'm diabetic and they're a relatively cheap and easy source of both protein and fat. I wouldn't eat 6 a day because I'd get sick of them pretty fast. In fact, I do rotate my proteins because if I don't, I get sick and tired of them and then have trouble eating them for weeks. I've definitely had that happen with eggs. So I eat an egg breakfast like 3 times a week. And I usually have 3 at a time. But if I wanted 6 eggs, I could do that no problem. I'm just usually all good after 2 or 3.

Chicken, beef, fish…eat what you want and like for breakfast. There are no rules.

Maybe try instead:
1. Plain full-cream unsweetened yoghurt with 2 tsp nut butter, seeds, and blueberries (and a little Xylitol or Stevia if you want).
2. Cottage cheese, tomatoes and a little salt.
3. Salmon, zucchini, onions, mushrooms and a little salt (stir-fry veges lightly in coconut oil).
I love these options too for breakfast, and they don't spike blood sugar.
