As my moving day is getting closer.. Im getting dizzier...
how exactly is everyone swinging it?
My current house is a mess due to lack of space. I cant even 'throw everything into boxes' because, well um plain because.
My oldest is ten down to an eight month old fevering baby. How will I ever get this house's belongings
relocated?

I’ve had the unfortunate pleasure of moving quite a few times and usually with a newborn. My rule of thumb is pack 3 boxes a day, no matter what. I start with the things I know I won’t need and closer to the date the things we can manage without and so on.

I hired the movers to pack. I just couldn't. Counted as a moving expense.

You start with things that you don't need on a daily basis like seforim, kitchen items etc. Pack clothes for everyone for 2 weeks and whatever else you need on a daily basis in suitcases and pack up the rest in boxes. Make plans for meals like cooking ahead, take out or leaving out very minimal items like one pan, knife etc and pack the rest using newspaper to pad delicate items (can also use clothes and towels). Prepare for things to be a little or a lot crazy and just plunge in!! Label boxes with the room they belong in so the movers will know where to put them (more detailed labeling is helpful for unpacking too if you can handle it) and time the move so you can sleep on the beds the night before in the old house and the night after the move in the new house - bring the linen along.
Or, just pay movers to do it!! But even if you do that, do the suitcases thing for your sanity while unpacking.

I started with packing up my entire dining room. You can manage with just what's in the kitchen in the meantime.

I had the movers pack. They were super cheap and it was the best thing ever. Everything clearly labeled and in the room I needed it in when I moved in. Only downside was I didn't get to throw out junk before I moved I brought it all with me

Go to a room and set out three bags/boxes: to move to new house, to throw away, to donate to a gemach (if you have one easily accessible). If you are getting rid of junk as you go you will have a lot less to unpack.
And even if you do get rid of bags and bags of stuff, you will get to your new house and wonder why you brought so much junk with you..

Been there, done that… and I remember feeling numb with overwhelm!
If you’re in Brooklyn, I used someone to help me pack. She was so reasonably priced and she said she ‘specializes’ in doing seforim and kitchens;)
After that, it felt like half my house was done bh.
I also payed some of my nieces to help with bedrooms (I think she can do it too if you really want that.)
Her name is Elka Nathan +1 (917) 929-7460

I found packing up each room in a box was easiest. Then I just labeled it living room, bedroom 1…

I recently moved and that's what I did:
First I decluttered a ton.
I filled up a whole pack of garbage bags between garbage and donating.
When it came to packing I focused on one room at a time!
I didn't start packing the next room till I finished the room I was currently packing.
While packing each room I left a few items (clothes/underwear/dishes etc.) that would be used till moving day in a closet in the room and on moving day I packed all those items in one box.
The kids were really helpful with packing up the toys and wrapping up the books in stretch wrap.
I hired a home organizer to unpack and organize my kitchen which was super helpful B"H.
Decluttering and staying focused on one room at a time was really helpful.

My husband says "carefully" whenever I ask a how question lol
Lots of good advice here. A good idea in my opinion, if possible, go away for Shabbos to someone who can host for an extended weekend and care for kids, like siblings or parents. Thur afternoon put your kids to bed there, Thur night go home and pack for hours. Same fri and MS and Sunday as much as possible. Buy dinner for your host family and move on Monday.
We ended up going to someone for a week. I brought our linen, a week of clothes, and kitchen stuff to cook basics with us. Everything else I was able to pack in advance. Kids had screen time when no toys left

Can someone est a ballpark price for packing up an apartment? I've moved three times and I've done it all myself, but we have a move coming up and I physically don't know how I'll do it with a newborn and more than a handful of older but still young kids. Our moving truck expense in the past was less than $2,000. How much is it if they pack?

I used an organizer - if you can I recommend it
Make sure you know where your Kesuba is
If you’re packing sefarim, make sure to keep your kids homework sefarIm in an easy to access place.
