I just got a job doing private comhab until the girl gets approved.
First in Upstate NY what is the going rate?
Also if we go out for something to eat does the family pay for my food also and for gas?
I for sure cant afford to go out for food every week or should I just sit there when the girl I am taking out eats?

Ask the agency? Some agency's give money to use while doing comhab, such as food , transportation costs, admission fees to attractions and toys. Other agencies don't give spending money. But don't use your personal money for her. If they Don't give spending money then don't go out to eat with her. And don't eat in from of her
I just see it's private pay. I would not ask the family to pay for my food

So right now her family is paying out of pocket because she didnt get approved yet but they are desperate.
So of course I am not paying out of pocket for her food but what about mine? I cant afford the $6 coffee latte every week that she wants to get. Do I just sit there when she orders one?
Or if she wants to go to someplace that needs an entrance fee I cant afford to pay my own does the family pay and when she does get approved does the money she gets pay for mine also?
Dont know how it works. There is no agency yet to ask right now.

In my experience, the comhab agency pays you and doesn't give spending money. My sil sends her son with his comhab person, who happens to be a teenager, out for pizza and will give a little extra for the person too.
But it not really a given. It's part of your job to accompany her to wherever she's going. That means that, yes you might have to sit in a coffee shop and not have a $6 latte. That's part of your personal budgeting. Entrance fees to somewhere you've been asked to take her are different; that's more like an expense the parents have to pay. Gas money should be discussed.
