If I dont carry on Shabbos, is there a not old-ladyish way (like they used to wear them on a chain) to wear Reading Glasses to Shul if I dont want to use the Shul's reading glasses, and I cant bring them there before.

I don’t think there’s another option. And I’m not convinced wearing them on a chain would necessarily work.

Most shuls I've been to, have a box of reading glasses. If yours doesn't, either leave a pair there before Shabbos, or consider arranging for a box of reading glasses be available l'zakos es harabim

Somehow wearing a pair of reading glasses that were worn by others, and arent clean looking, nauseates me and you cant always bring yours before Shabbos..

Can you walk with reading glasses on?
As in just wear it like glasses to Shul as you would wear glasses?

Buy an extra pair and leave in Shul with your name on the case.

You'd kill yourself tripping on the sidewalk. You'd have to slide them down your nose and look over them, which would be carrying. No different from balancing your Siddur on your head. But AYLOR.
Best idea seems to be bringing them to shul before Shabbos, in a case labeled with your name, and leaving them on the seat or in the ladies room or something.

You actually can’t take it on shabbos at all. You can’t wear an item just to carry it. It has to have a use while you are wearing it. So just wearing it as glasses or wearing on a chain would both still be considered carrying.

I bought an antique lorgnette. That's what people used before there were reading glasses. It's cost about $150 I think (I bought it a while ago). I wear it during the week sometimes too just bc it's a pretty and unusual necklace.

Can you buy an extra pair and hide them in the coat roam with your name on them (or leave them in the Siddur holder of your makom kavuah? )
They seem to be less than $5 a pair on Amazon.

I found mine on ebay but a friend who took my idea found hers on a small antique jewelry store site. I think she just typed in "antique lorgnette."
