Title speaks for itself. He is always around me but I don’t want to pretend he’s not there. I usually keep things brief but I don’t like how the phone makes him feel invisible. He comes to my lap and wants my attention. I feel like I’m neglecting him.
I do limit my time on the phone but my attitude is just unacceptable. Also when I want to be on my phone I always give my children feeling of rejection. Has anyone trained themselves how to be patient when you want to get something done alone but kids are always around.

Can you make your calls when your kids are napping/asleep?

Or put your phone on silent and check it later?

You can try talking on the phone during feeding time, the food should keep him busy. But not as a daily thing, meal time should be a time for bonding.

Or you can try playing something quiet that you can do both at once, such as rolling a ball back and forth.

Meals are bonding times. I feel like as my kids grow there is less and less alone time for parents. What’s the solution. Older kids want to bond at night with me.
