Do you have the evenflo “dual”? Looking into it bec the car seat can detach from the base which is nice if needed bec the doona is always so heavy with the baby.

Can anyone weigh in on which one to get

I previously had the doona (it’s expired I threw it out) and it was so heavy but dh likes convenience of the wheees

It’s mainly for in and out of car do babysitter, on errands.

Look into evenflow shyft dualride. Similar to doona in that it converts between car seat and carriage. Car seat detaches from base. I happen to like the style a lot better than doona and it has some advantages over the doona- hood cover more of babys face, and it has a sensor to connect to app on your phone that will beep if you leave baby in car.

https://www.amazon.com/DualRid.....ss_tl

Been using it for couple of months and I’m thrilled. Bought it because it was on sale tbh (it’s usually same price as doona on amazon). And because it’s not a doona, it ironically attracts more attention, I have been getting so many comments and compliments LOL! I don’t get the obsession with doona anyways, so clunky and yellow wheels. Disclaimer I’m not into name brands, maybe I’m missing something. But I feel like everyone has the doona so why not get something more practical and nicer looking?

the seat detaching is a great feature, until you realize you detached it and left the wheels in the car because you didn’t think you need them…
and now, you have to move rooms in the pediatrician’s office and you are carrying the car seat on your arm…

For the pediatrician I would take the whole stroller.

This is the one I meant to ask about. I got the name wrong initially.

I don’t care about style or compliments. I care about convenience.

Any downsides to it? Do wheels get stuck? Is it smooth? Is it very heavy (I think heavier than doona) when using the whole thing up or down steps?

Im very happy with it too. but I never had a doona in the past. only regualar carseats and snap n go. this is a huge improvement and I only detach wheels to put on shopping cart in grocery and love that it can do that. and im tall so the adjustable handle is great

I used it for close to a year.

Only downside is weight.

Otherwise the positives of this over Doona which I appreciated a lot- taller handlebar, hood extends much further down, seat position is more comfortable, safety rating is so much higher, wheels come off, quite a bit cheaper too

It’s a great feature- but has some downsides, which will probably be worked on for the next models.

I was with someone who got dropped off right in front of the office, so she left the wheels in the car. And then, the car ended up being parked a little walk away from the office and she didn’t have the wheels with her to walk back to the car.

Also, I read that you can only detach the seat if the wheels are clicked into the base. So if you don’t have the base with you, detaching isn’t an option.

Wheels coming off can only be a plus. You have an option on or off. I think everyone can figure out which situations they want them and which they don’t.

Well that was silly of her lol. Why wouldn't she want the wheels in a drs office?

I'm due soon imyh and ordered the evenflo. The times I can think of taking the wheels of to be convenient would be if baby fell asleep in the car and I don't want to take dirty/wet wheels into my house can leave the wheels in my car in the garage. If I'm visiting my mother she has a lot of steps outside her house it's easier to carry a car seat up than bump up so many steps and I can put it down right inside her house. You can take off wheels to put car seat in a shopping cart.

I live in a very snowy climate so not needing to drag filthy wheels everywhere is a big plus.

The canopy is also more generous and the handlebar is taller.

It looks really great. When our Doona expires we’ll get the shyft. I’ve heard it’s compatible with nuna adapters, so it can go on regular strollers. which would make it really the best of both worlds.

lol! Now my initial post looks entirely out of place LOL
It is heavy but not much heavier than doona when you’re talking 19lb vs 17lb. Couldn’t lift it myself for the first few weeks pp but by 1 month I was managing it alone.
Tbh one of the front wheels does get jammed sometimes while collapsing it but doesn’t happen often enough for me to complain. Up/down steps I usually open the wheels and bump it but I’ve lifted it too, it’s not bad.

Can you elaborate on the nuna adapter? How does that work?

We were very happy with it. The only issue we had was that (at least when we bought it) you couldn't buy a base separately so we only used it in one car.

I tried it with my old nuna adapters after reading this, it goes on but doesn't click. I wouldn't use it like that with a baby inside.

Like nuna car seat adapters for other strollers. I know it works on the mockingbird and Nuna Demi grow but theoretically it should work on others. It’s only with the post adapters, though, not the ring.
