Hi, I am looking for a middle of the road seminary, hashgafically and academically. Bright girls but not super academic like a 13th grade. Not Beis Yaakov but not idealistically M.O. either. Girls are solidly frum but have outside interests. Midreshet Tehilla is the current best profile but would like a few other names.

Yes, I heard that too but don't know what that looks like - Lakewood BY or more out of town BYm

Darchei Binah is not a Lakewood-type BY.

After spending the past year analyzing each seminary in great detail, I agree that Darchei Binah sounds like what you want. We strongly considered it but ended up choosing elsewhere. It's definitely NOT BY this year, I can tell you for sure. The girls are nice and solid and growth oriented but not generally Bais Yaakov-y.

Sharfman's or Michlala might be good (Michlala might be more academic than you want, same with Tomer Devorah). could also check out ba'er miriam

There is no hebrew word hashgafa. There is is hashgacha which is used for kashrus and hashkafa with a kuf that is used for the term derech.

This is unnecessarily pedantic! we all knew what she meant.

Actually people don’t know, some schools teach the word wrong.

Midreshet tehilla sounds too modern. I knew a girl who went there, not BY at all, and she found the girls were way too into movies, celebs, social media, boys, etc.

big Darchei Bina fan here. seems a good balance...girls are growth minded and there are different levels of learning and classes, not all day heavy, mix of heavy and more discussion/light. lots of personal care.

First choice was Midreshet Tehila. Then we saw the price.

Harova is a great place but VERY modern, I would put it more in the on the lindenbaum, migdal oz, drisha end of the spectrum, not middle of the road

I agree with others that darchei binah sounds relevant. Also tomer devorah.
Where is she coming from background wise? I know a few girls that went to midreshet tehila thinking it was a good middle of the road option like you are describing but realized once they got there that it wasn't a good fit. I'm not at all saying it's not a good place, I know others that were very happy there. Just that davka this point of "middle of the road" could end up mixing people up and I know it's happened there specifically
