How much are you paying per child and how many kids do you have?

Trying to gauge tuition expenses for the area. We will likely not qualify for tuition breaks

Most OOT schools have websites with the tuition and fee schedule which would answer your first question.

Every school is different and every age range is different.

BY is about 10k per child in elementary
TA is a range from 11 to 14 k for elementary based on grade.
Mesivta is about 20k
Legal daycare is between 10 and 13 k

How do you know you won’t qualify for a reduction? Maybe fill out the forms and see what happens. It’s the same form for all of the schools.
Basically, boys schools cost more than girls schools. There is boost if you qualify and if you get it, it is income based. There are also childcare vouchers which have a higher income limit and helps lots of families. Just know that TA doesn’t accept childcare vouchers but TI does. (Doesn’t affect me since we make too much for childcare vouchers BH BAH but throwing it out there for anyone who does qualify.)
Edited to add voucher website and eligibility

Don't assume you don't qualify.

One year the tuition jumped drastically (not $300 a kid). At the time we were making about 200k combined income, but with all my kids tuition one entire salary is tuition only. I called the school and the person in charge of tuition told me that we could apply for a tuition break. I told her that with our salaries why would we qualify. Her answer was that the school is not trying to choke us financially, and even if we just need a little off we should apply. We didn't in the end, but the fact she told us to apply meant it would be considered.

We are in Baltimore and my husband and I both work full time with combined salaries of about $170,000 gross. We have no problem getting significant tuition breaks in multiple schools. All we had to do was complete the financial aid application and submit our tax returns - it was really a simple process and we didn't have to talk to a single person about it!

How high are your salaries that you do not think you will qualify but are worried about paying full tuition?

Did not know that.
Even Bnos daycare in the new location doesn’t take vouchers?

They said they are working on it, but the process takes time. So as of now, no.

Yes, also in Baltimore, lower salaries than this but a decent amount in savings, had been paying full tuition for multiple years but were realizing that it would eat up all our savings. We were also told to apply. Tuition in Baltimore works differently than in other places. It's okay to apply for a break even if you never have before.

5 kids. After taxes, health insurance, and 401(k) are deducted from our paychecks, our combined take home pay is around $115,000. The schools understand that we can't spend more than half of that on tuition! How would we buy food? We have a low mortgage, drive Toyotas and live simply, but are BH not poor. The tuition boards are very reasonable about the cost of frum life and the expectations are realistic. Note that we did pay full tuition when we had less kids in school and they were younger (the tuition for preschool and elementary is lower), but now that they are mostly in older grades, it is no longer possible.

We paid full tuition in Baltimore for 9 years. Our expenses have gone up dramatically in the past 2 years, while our income has not, so this is the first year we asked for a break. All the schools we send to gave us a break, just 1 school's break was not for the full amount we requested. It can't hurt to ask, op. For years we prided ourselves on not asking, but last year it really ate into our wallet. In retrospect we should have asked 1-2 years ago.

This is not correct. The daycare is licensed and accepts vouchers. They are working on getting their preschool licensed.
