Chemdas is opening tomorrow

Binas is another option.

If you are applying to 4 schools and want to be in that range, I think it would be bais leah, Chemdas, Binas and Shiras Devorah/ Bais Shaindel

Can you say more about it?
Who's running it? Who is it geared for? Which elementaries are girls coming from?

Same for binas, and for bais shaindel as well. Any info appreciated.

I don’t know a lot. They took in most of the girls from Mayan Bais yaakov. I think they are geared towards Tiferes Chaya and bais hachinuch maybe bnos Hadassah. The principal is Mrs. Rosenberg from machon Mattel Leah I think.

Bais Shaindel is everyone but has a good amount of heimish girls but I don’t think you are allowed to choose it.

Binas and Chemdas seem to be for the same crowd. I’m not sure what the hashkafic differences are. Binas started this year so your 9th grader would only have one grade above her. Chemdas has grades 9-11 so you would be getting a full School with a senior class. I would definitely apply to both if you consider yourself heimish. There are not many options and both of these are really geared to that crowd.

Thanks for the info.

Do you know who runs binas and chemdas?

What does it mean not allowed to choose bais shaindel?

Chemdas is a brand new school opening 24/25. It is geared towards the chassidish/ heimish oilam.

Chedvas is an existing Lakewood school that is not heimish at all and connected to bnos brocha.

Chemdas is also the name of a popular bais yaakov seminary in EY.

I have never had an 8th grader in Lakewood so I don’t know exactly how the application process works but ppl told me you choose 4 schools and bais shaindel can’t be one of them.

I don’t know who the administrators of either school are. I’ve heard Chemdas is owned by Hershy Weber but I’m not sure.

In general, after Chanukah/ midwinter, there will be an entrance exam for most schools. Girls take 1 exam.
At the exam, they pick up all the applications that they want. You mail them out and then interviews.

The Vaad usually recommends you apply to a specific amount of schools (4) and Bais Shaindel is usually not counted.

But disclosure. Some of the more Chassidishe schools like Ateres Nechama- Bnos Binas school and possibly other Mosdos schools don't do the group entrance exams so you have to reach out to them directly.

Thanks I appreciate this info.

Can you explain why bais shaindel doesn't count? And if you can't pick them how do you apply? Or is it 3-4 *In addition* to bais shaindel?

Anyone have any more info on the schools mentioned upthread, binas and chemdas?

Bais Shaindel doesn't count because they're full and therefore you can't really count on them.
Between Bais Rivka Rochel girls (feeder school), siblings, family, and by now alumi, they don't want people counting it as one of their 4 and counting on it.
So you apply to 4+ Bais Shaindel.

I don't know the ins and outs of Chassidishe places.
But it's possible that it's also not smart to count on other feeder schools. Bais Leah,Ateres Nechama, Shiras Devorah because they also are mostly full before registration even starts.
