I'm looking to start my son in keyboard lessons. He doesn't have any musical knowledge but it's something he's been wanting for a while and we feel he is old enough to try it out now. I'm looking for someone who connects well with kids. My son is extremely shy and has a hard time feeling comfortable amongst a stranger so someone who can connect really well. He also takes a bit longer to learn so I'm looking for someone who will propell him along and encourage him. We feel this can be such a great confidence boost for him as he has very little confidence right now so we really want this to work. Is there anyone out there to recommend?

Following.
I'm also looking. I'm looking for something very different. I'm looking for someone very cheap. That I wouldn't waste my money on that could teach my son to play by ear -fast learner.
Do you have a budget op? If you look through the bp I've seen some music schools advertise

I'm totally new to this and I have no idea what pricing this generally goes for so no I dont have a budget. I'm willing to pay for the right kind of teacher though. If this is going to help my son in the long run with his confidence and help him feel good about himself then it's worth any price for me.

If you are OK with a teacher over zoom, I can recommend a very experienced and patient teacher.

Does anyone have experience with Bassline in person? Does he have patience to work with a boy who might be a slower then average learner?

We also used baseline.
My son was not a beginner so we started lessons midway through the program

Another plug here for Bassline. He is thorough and patient. And although pricey in person, the online or USB (no internet required) lessons are reasonable and my kids really picked up beautifully and are playing by ear - they can play pretty much any song by now. Also, I like that girls can do the program as well via the USB.
And the customer service was fantastic.
