This looks like real trauma that is afraid to surface while you're awake or it is something from a past life that needs to be processed.

Another version of the dream is where I am trying to light but the match keeps breaking or the candle won't light.

I have this style recurring dream as well all the time. Either erev shabbos or erev pesach, right before the zman and I didn’t start cooking and house is a total mess.

pesach 2020 I remember thinking my nightmare came true. It’s erev pesach and I didn’t start cooking.

recurring dream about me (married, w kids, pregnant) having to go back to school w my classmates (none married etc), needing to get a maternity school uniform, a pony shaitel to 'fit in' (lol!) or going to sleepaway camp as a married mommy, telling my bunkmates that I don't belong here, I have a husband and family...

also recurring dream about my hs principal embarrassing me over and over

I had to wake up really early for something important, but our 8 week baby was so fussy and wouldn't go to sleep and wouldn't let me sleep. Finally at 3 am I get the fussy baby to sleep but by then I was so stressed and frazzled I couldn't fall asleep.

I'm laying there, stressing out about how I'm probably going to have to do this important thing on no sleep, and I probably have too much adrenaline from being forced to stay awake from the baby, and then to add insult to injury, my toddler comes into my bed. And of course she needs me and I'm trying to get her to leave me alone, because I need to sleep. So finally, she falls asleep and I'm just laying there willing myself to sleep, please please please, because a few hours of sleep is better than none.

And suddenly I wake up and it's still really early, and my toddler is still asleep... in her bed. She never came to my bed. I was so stressed that I had a dream that I couldn't fall asleep. Even while I'm sleeping I get to experience insomnia. Rolling Eyes

Calendula, nice try but wrong. I can also dream, say, that I missed the deadline for filing taxes. Every time I go on a diet --every few years--I dream that I ate an entire Sacher torte in one sitting. This dream is one I've had as far back as my early teens and I'm a grandmother. I wake up in a panic and am so relieved that it's just a dream. The reason for the dream is obvious. However, I haven't even seen a Sachertorte in years, so all I can do is dream about it.

I have lots of dreams to that involve my whole ex's extended family and don't include my ex or the child we had together. And I'm divorced 12 years. I think a lot of it is that we got divorced suddenly. Nobody knew and I felt the loss and rejection of a whole big family that had been mine for 5 years. In most of the dreams the family is rejecting of me but not all the dreams.

My dream last night was that it was 3 hours to shabbos and I forgot to make my sourdough and it was too late to start the process. For whatever reason many of my dreams are threatened by time in this way. Not sure why, I'm a very, very organized and timely person.

I've had dreams where worms were all over my body. I researched it and found that it's in connection to having a very low self image. Does that ring true for you?
