I have been working very part time from home for the past 10 years. My youngest is in school and I've been thinking about switching to working out of the house. My DH thinks it would be better for me to get out daily and see people. It is very isolating to be home all day.
The thing is I am so used to my flexible schedule. I make appointments during the day, do errands during the day, take care of the house during the day. I am a low energy person with inattentive ADHD. My DH works a full time job and I do 90% of the housework and parenting. I have no idea how to run my home or take care of all my responsibilities if I'm out of the house for a chunk of hours. My evenings and nights are completely swamped with taking care of just my kids.
I have very stressful mornings and evenings and I use my day to pull myself together. The problem is it's not enough and the lack of social interactions or identity/productivity outside of my role of wife and mother is impacting my mental health.
I have looked into other social outlets and volunteering but they don't exist in my community. There are mommy and me's but I have no babies. The only volunteer options were driving which I don't have a car for during the day, or making meals which I already do.
I'm just not sure what to do and if switching to working outside the home is the right thing or how to manage it all.
Honestly even with my laid back schedule now, I'm not managing it all.

How many hours are you considering working a day? I have ADHD and honestly if I dont have serious structure to my day I will sit on my couch and stare into space. I get it from working but if I didnt work I would need to come up with something that fills that need for me.

I don't have a job yet. I'm thinking 4 hours. Right now I'm dreaming.
