at what age could you let a boy iron his own shirts??
ds1 got into his head that I must iron all his shirts and pants like I do for dh, difference, dh works in a gouverment office and must have them done whie ds1's don't get creased.
he's 9

I don't think I would let my 9 yr old dd iron clothes. Not with small kids around, and she may forget to unplug it...
I iron kids shabbos clothes, thats it.
you can make a deal...he washes up or dries dishes or hoovers while you iron his clothes.

The answer is: TOO BAD!!
(My mother had a friend whose children 'demanded' that she iron their underwear too, and she did it. This is all about setting limits. It's your decision not his.)
I wouldn't let my 8 yr old dd iron herself. I think maybe from around 11 or 12 I let them - it also depends on the individual child. Are they practical/ responsible or more the daydreaming type?

For a boy I would not allow before age 13, and even then only a responsible boy.
MN, ironing costs money in electricity. Tell him to sleep with his pants under the mattress to straighten them, if he feels he must.
Abba is abba and he's a little pisher. They are not equal.
