Hi all, I'm looking into taking a course in digital art with the hopes of it becoming a solid income. Would appreciate feedback from those in the field! (or those who know someone in the field)

I worry about AI encroaching on the work of actual artists.

My experiments until now have shown that AI still doesn’t get the frum niche. All that might change, of course.
Regarding OP’s question, I don’t think illustration offers consistent income, unless you are well known and top of the field.

It depends what you call solid parnassa.
Most illustrators work on a freelance basis. Like all freelance jobs, you have to start out small and slowly build up your client base. And until you "make it" in the field, you'll spend a lot of time searching for your next job and not have consistent income. So would I call it solid? Not really, but you can earn a decent hourly rate for your time and it's very flexible. I would never recommend someone to do this as the primary breadwinner in the family, but for supplemental income, it's okay.
