Should I soak in vinegar overnight, then wash, hang to dry and then use stain remover?
Or treat stains first, wash in cold, and only then soak in vinegar?

Unfortunately one of my kids has allergies to most stain removers, so trying to do my best with the more natural products that aren't as affective.
And getting a bit overwhelmed trying to get my boys' shirts clean Very Happy

Always treat stains first. What are you using vinegar for? I add to rinse water to dissolve remaining soap residue and thus soften fabric and maybe slow down greying, which is caused in part by soap residue that doesn't rinse out. Yes, vinegar is sometimes used to set dyes and so it can set stains as well.

You can add a cup white vinegar straight in load. I do that with baby clothing works wonders (and kills germs like yeast)
