She said he is 5 grades below his age level and hopefully can get him up with doing a series of certain exercises with her trained people. At this point they charge about $75 for 1/2 sessions, and up! But if this can help him get where he needs to be, its all worth it. | bump. Can u update if u tried and got results. Tysm

I just took my kid there for kriya issues.
He also has some perfectionism, and his brain gets stuck on things. Similar behavioral progression like my nephew who had AuDHD. But that boy had such challenges from day one. With my son, he was developing normally. And only at 4.5 when he started kita alef, the issues became apparent. He really struggled w kriya, attention, focus, then the sensory stuff started, and much more. Lots of issues only developed later on, and he didn't have that a year ago.
We got him to a developmental neuro he "softly" diagnosed him with adhd (great. What now?) And said we can do an official assessment if we'd like.
And suggested meds. For an overall ok five year old. I felt like it's too early to jump the gun and start on that rollercoaster
Anyway, We took him to Mrs. Merzbach.
She's the sweetest! So far, he did it for about 3 months before yom tov hit. At the 6 week mark, I started realizing some significant changes.
For example. If he forgot to drink and the bus showed up earlier than expected, he'd freeze and cry that he needs to drink, and the bus is here. So he wouldn't take to drink, or run yo thr bus. He'd stand there stuck and cry and cry and not be able to listen to reason and let himself be helped.
Recently, such a thing happened. Bus was extremely early. I was still writing his mitzvah note. And the bus showed up. He looked at the bus, looked at the cup, yelled to me, "I'll drink in cheder. I'm not really thirsty anyway!" Then waved "gitten tug mammy" and ran off with a smile.
He's also an extremely gentle soul, from the youngest in his grade and on top of that vert petite in stature. (He's finally outgrowing his 3T shirts! He'll be 5.5 soon.)
But developmentally/emotionally Mrs. Metzbach said he's like an 8 year old. And has a high IQ too. He does play with the 7-9 year olds in the neighborhood and is the celebrity. I guess cuz he's adorable tiny but still participates in there games as if he's one of them.
On the bus he used to be bullied. He has just recently learned to stick up for himself and walk away from conflict. (I feel like thats a HUGE accomplishment even for a teen! Let alone a little kid!) He now he has more confidence. Connects better with the boys in his class. His kriya improves slightly but not as much as I'd hoped. But overall he's so much more content, flexible and pleasant. He doesn't cry so easily and has better frustration tolerance. I feel like every single penny is 100% worth it.
In general my kid came out feeling like a BAZILLION bucks from her office and it was ahuge boost for him becuase he really felt badly about himself that all the boys in class are reading fluently and he's still waaay behind and it made him feel dumb. Now his confidence is so much better.
Thank you hashem. Thank you Mrs. Merzbach. Thank you Hashem for sending such wonderful shlichim our way!

Amazing results! Highly recommend. I’ve done OT for years and got nowhere. It’s not at all the same as OT work, though some things can overlap. She opens up the brain onto develop from the core up and progress. For developmental challenges, mild symptoms of autism, add, sensory, rigidness, reflex integration, brain development, emotional and social age level should be aligned. I can’t even explain how much it helped my son. Matured tremendously and developed. Was a teen yet he was the age of a 5 year old and now it’s finally catching up. I even showed it to a developmental doctor for special eyeglasses her evaluation report what she works on and the OT report they’re working on and asked which should we do as my son didn’t want to do both. She pointed to Mrs Mertzbach’s report and said this is foundation and core, opens up the brain to be able to develop and grow whereas as the OT was just training behaviors for the brain but didn’t integrate fully and he regressed at some point, which was very frustrating after so many years of OT therapy. Even though my child learned the skills and doing it he was still working too hard and it didn’t come naturally. Mr’s Mertzbach picked up on it and worked on opening the brain to be able to absorb and integrate it, suddenly his piano playing improved to professional level, everything opened up for him. Focus and learning as well. She also does some trauma, inner child work as well in her program. She has loads of knowledge. So the developmental doctor said even after you do these exercises my son might not need OT at all or if yes maybe just a few months to learn the skills still missing but will go very quick as he has the ability to learn now. I can’t thank enough the tremendous progress he’s made.

A good OT should be able to do this. Worth going to someone professionally trained and licensed.

Writinggirl I don’t agree. Have done ot since my son is 4 years old. She doesn’t just do ot work. It’s totally different, some things can overlap with OT but it’s completely different and way better. It makes no sense that my son has been doing OT for years and still struggling. Have had good therapists and more stuff ontop of that. Did as well fast forward program. Still having a hard time, until I did Mertzbach’s program.
She does a much broader range of issues.
She has people trained to follow her evaluation in boro park, Lakewood, Monsey, Monroe as far as I know. She gives them instructions and they do the exercises.

She has trained therapists in Brooklyn. You need to see her for an evaluation, and then she will refer you to one of her therapists.
