Sorry you don't think so. Usually takes time for it to get funny, and first episodes are building up the characters a little more and setting the scene. it's a family favorite of ours. Everyone I know who watches it loves it.
Episode 5 is hysterical and understood without watching the rest.
It's also older and didn't have a large budget.

What do you mean it hasn’t driven people away so far? A lot of people in this thread alone are saying they wouldn’t buy it again.

But think of it like this
Youll be getting way less views with a $20 pricetag for a 20 min episode vs $5 pricetag
Or even $8 would be justifiable
They could make it the funniest film out there
I just cant justify spending 20 on a 20 min film
(And I believe most ppl wont either)
I would quicker spend $40-60 on a 3 hr professional quality film |
It’s usually $60 for an hour and a half type of film or almost 2 hour long film. Which seems to be about breaking even if you break it down per minute of content.

I think this is a new idea in the frum community and it is actually brilliant. I enjoyed it very much. I loved the set, the cinematography, the theme song, and the witty dialogue. I also really love the cast. They are phenomenal. Really looking forward to the next episode. I have a feeling we will find out what Malky is up to when we see episode two. Can’t wait!

From all the threads here no one has bashed the actors or directors, it has all been about the disappointment of paying so much for 20 mins of entertainment. Everyone happily paid it when they thought it was longer as we all agree their is a lack of entertainment for Jewish women by Jewish women but if we have to pay every time $20 majority of people can't afford it and won't pay out again.
Some people haven't even downloaded the first episode as they in general can't afford it.
Alot of people who watched it turned to Imamother to understand what the plot is, they didn't realise it is a continuation video.
If future episodes are going to be at a more affordable rate e.g $5-8 many more people who have watched the pilot will continue to watch them and I would not be shocked that people who originally haven't watched it will justify paying the one time $20 and then continue with each episode.

So I'm trying to figure out exactly what your goal is here. You obviously want others to validate your opinion, so why is every single response to something that someone else says "ha ha ha, you're being unreasonable about the price, you probably don't like when women have success my friend told me that the that they want to have the great actresses, and why don't you like them?" No, we just want to have a discussion about why it's so expensive and we're actually saying we're not going to buy it.
The same way you want us to validate and agree with your opinion, which we are all doing by engaging with it respectfully.. But it would be nice if you showed us the same courtesy. You seem to be having trouble accepting that we're allowed opinions of our own.

Nobody here is saying the show isn’t good. Some people were confused that it ended abruptly. But the majority of us said the actresses were amazing and it was very professional. We are also saying it is too expensive for us to continue downloading more episodes. And if you are friends with one of the actresses, maybe let her know, so whoever is in charge of pricing can try to bring the price down a bit, so people can continue downloading it.

Where do you get this pricing?
I watched a brand new release, over 2 hour film for $25. (Restless in peace)

It was $21.99, not $20.
Perhaps it's true that the number of downloads was way more than they expected. That's probably 1. Because people, like myself, were intrigued. The ad was very enticing.
2. People, like myself, did not notice that it was only 20 minutes of the actual show. (Did Mostly Music only add it to the description later?)
3. I did not find the storyline overall engaging. Maybe that's because it never finished and I have to finish watching all the episodes. But that will be a very expensive movie.
Reminds me of the two part novels that the Judaica stores sell at $36.99 each, that are not standalone books. You need to read both. I do not buy those books.
The real question is how many people will be purchasing future episodes. I hope for their sake that I am wrong.

| We all loved this. Especially when it came out. There wasn't much like this on the market. This industry has advanced a lot since then but we still enjoy rewatching. I would love to see more episodes from them in the future. Though don't think I'd pay $20 for 20 minutes to watch it only once.

Um yea -
Curb your enthusiasm.
(I might also be the only person that ever existed that doesn't find it remotely funny - to me It's choppy and the storyline keep jumping)

The difference between the books and this, is the books I get to keep and can re-read as many times as I want. While this is a rental. I actually did not rent it as it’s way too expensive for me for an episode that I can’t rewatch whenever I want. Also by the time the next episode comes out I may well forget this one and I can’t go back and rewatch.

I sometimes treat my daughter to a frum movie watch over YT, but we skipped this one when I realized it was part of a series. We didn't feel like shelling that out for something incomplete, that we'd have to shell out more $$ in order to get the story.....
I think alot of people probably had the same reasoning I had. But I guess some people are fine with paying it this way, and that's fine, that will be the audience for this type of feature.
