My 17 year old son complained a few times over the last 2 or so weeks about a headache. I figured he wasn't drinking as much as usual and had much more screen time than usual being out of school, so just gave him an Advil and reminded him to drink etc. Then for the past 2 days or so he had very little appetite and ate almost nothing which is very unusual for him, but he seemed to be feeling fine (it had been a few days since he said he had a headache). I was worried though because like I said, he always has an appetite. He went back to his dorm last night and this morning texted me that he's not feeling well again, he has a headache and asked to make a doctor's appointment. I asked about his appetite but he didn't really know since it was so early in the morning. He's asleep now and I'm trying to get him an appointment.

I'm panicking though since he's so far away. Any ideas what it could be??

Can be migraines, dehydration, something more serious that needs bloodwork.. did he possibly drink alcohol?

Thanks both. I'll definitely ask about blood work. Maybe just dehydrated but he didn't really have any of the other symptoms.

He won't have had any alcohol, he mostly just hung around the house (his friends aren't in this area) but that was a good call!

Could be a virus, strep, lyme or a chronic infection like ebv or cmv or mycoplasma

Thanks all. My son went to the doctor and got some bloodwork done, but all was normal. No strep but doctor said this throat was a bit red. He said if he doesn't feel better by end of week to come back for further testing... I am nervous Crying Kind of wish they had found something.
