Clothes out connection.
But also I've found 54" to work fine

I have a mattress topper if that makes a difference. Would I be able to go with a bigger size.

My current fitted sheets from close out connection are a little small and don’t cover the mattress completely

Then yes I would go with 54".
48" fitted sheets might nit go all the way down if the mattress is thick. But I haven't tried fron other stores, maybe a different company is deeper?

You need deeper sheets, not wider!
