What do you do if you have multiple kids?
The child with anxiety etc etc is the older one and its training my younger one to think this is normal
I'm going nuts I can't be in 2 beds at once

For this reason, I don’t sit with my child for a second.
We have a bedtime routine and when we are done with shma I’m out. No one more thing…

You don’t sit with them if you have multiple kids. Give them other things, like nightlights, stuffies, going to sleep with music or stories… it’s a really important skill they need to learn.

Unfortunately due to different anxiety situations I’m stuck sitting by my kids at night and I’ll warn you that it’s not a good habit to start. That being said, if you can have both kids in the same room and put 2 to sleep together that’s the easiest. Recently I had to switch my daughter out of my sons room for tznius since my sons getting older and now Im stuck sitting in 2 rooms. It’s not fun. My son will usually read in my bed till I’m done putting my daughter to sleep. My situation may be different since my son has a few diagnosis that may be why I’m still sitting there even though he’s 10 already. My daughter sees that I do it for him so she insists as well but she is younger

It’s hard
I switched from laying next to dc to sitting on chair nearby bec then when I leave after they’re sleeping, it’s less noticeable

It’s a bad habit I started with my oldest 25 years ago and I’m now still staying with my 2 year old till he falls asleep. Looking back , I don’t regret the time I was forced to spend with my kids each night. Some are married and out of the house and the older ones go to sleep after me.
Life gets hectic and I was forced to give them that time.

When I had two kids that needed it they slept in the same room.
I will say that not all need it.
And those that did needed it for varying times (some for a couple months into routine and some for a year).
I don’t love it but I don’t think it’s the worst thing g in the world.

I think it's a bad tactic we try with the first and then go through the weaning process and don't try again.

Can you sit with each one for a set amount of time like 15 min and if they're not asleep by then they get an extra goodnight kiss and finish on their own?

My rule is that the first person all ready and in bed, I sit with.

Stagger bedtime. Put the younger one to sleep first

They share a room and I sit between them. Or my husband helps if I need to deal with the baby

Learning to relax and unwind and ultimately falls sleep alone is a skill kids need to learn.
You do better to teach it to them then sit by them till they manage.
As someone else said. music, incentives, breathing. exercises....
these are life skills I was never taught and I still struggle with sleep!
Spending time with the child is lovely but can be done with a story, song and Shema.
