Schadenfreude
It’s a great word
It’s German
There’s no word for it in Hebrew, Yiddish, or English
We need a word for this, not an awkwardly jumbled multi word phrase

Baalebatish
Or is that Balabatish
Can you say that in English?
Balabusta
How do you say that in English or Hebrew?
Also Yiddish words are so much more expressive in a poetic and emotional way.
Think of a person who is farblondzhet and a person who is lost.
I know they technically means the same thing but conjure up different mental images.

Affluent would be balbatish but maybe there's a better word since poor people can be balbatish too. Iykyk

You think there's no single word for parent or fun in any other language? |
Eidim in Yiddish is son in law

הרי in Hebrew. I don't think it has a straightforward translation.

No not at all
I think the word would be a cross between accomplished and capable, but neither of them have the connotation that geshikt has

No, mannerisms wouldn't be it- those are someone's specific habitual ways of behaving. With mentchlichkeit we're talking about specifically good manners and human decency.
