as someone wrote, big diff here bw older teens say 18+ and younger teens.
Older teens understand parents need space. if our bedroom door is shut and my 19 Ur old wants to come in in eve she MSG's me and asks if im available.
younger teens 15 and 13 are less mindful but they knock on the door and after a certain time we say "no more knocking me and daddy need our time, good nite and see you in the morning" end of.
for private uninterrupted talks we try go for a quick walk after dinner, or when weather is good sit outside. or a drive .
kids need to be taught to be respectful of the marriage relationship
and don't forget what they see they will take into their own marriages
