Core and cut apple on half. Put a good piece of chocolate in the apple cavity. Cover with puff pastry.
There are 2 ways to do this. Lay the apple down on a lined cookie sheet. Press the pastry square around the apple sealing the pastry to the sheet.
Put the pastry square over the apple. Bring all 4 corners together and bake seam down.

Savory-
Mini deli rolls:
Smear ketchup and mustard onto each square. Roll a slice of turkey roll or your choice of deli and place diagonally. Top with a strip of pastrami. Fold over corners to the center and secure with a toothpick. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle sesame seeds. Bake till golden.

Sweet-
Muille Fuille:
Cut in half. Place on bekeleh on a parchment paper, cover with another piece of parchment paper and place something heavy on top to keep from puffing up. Bake for about 12 minutes.
Remove from oven, sprinkle tops with sugar and bake another 5 minutes. Press heavy pot on it. Flip and sprinkle sugar on the other side, bake for a few. It should be crispy.
Layer with custard and your favorite fruit slices.

I do similar but a bit easier:
Saute one onion. Meanwhile put up 1 and 1/3 cups potato flakes based on package instructions. Then mix the two together. Put a scoop in center, fold into a square,
Egg wash
Sesame seeds
Bake on whatever temp till golden brown
