Looking for unique off the beaten path ideas for chol hamoed day trips for toddlers through teens anywhere in NJ. For example we went to Northlandz miniature trains last year and my kids loved it.

My kids loved allaire stare park, the ironworks village. We did a paid tour for 5 dollars a person.
There's also a little open air train museum there.
(We also loved northlandz. Did it twice)
Following this thread for more ideas for this year

All of mine did the youngest was 3, oldest 14. It’s an hour worth of miniature trains, miniature famous landmarks, cities, villages, amusement parks, tiny people doing lots of different things.. has some buttons to press to make some things move. It’s a fascinating experience. We saw a lot of older teens too.

Btw a tip they had some tiny foldable stools right before you go in, if you have toddlers take it because they can’t see over the wall so well without it.

Can’t find much information on it. Looks like reviews say it’s closed most of the time.

Not sure how off the beaten path this is but we love Atlantic Farms. You can feed the animals carrots, they have a hay ride and a train ride. Super cute for my kids ages 2-7 last year.
