we went on a "road trip" for YK and brought our non-jewish nanny with us. she left with us about noon friday, and got back at noon sunday. it was last minute and we didn't agree to a price, and we told her we'd work out later out how much to pay her.
we pay her $150/day for an 8 hour day, mon-thurs, which is $18.75/hr.
at the YK house we stayed, she took care of the 2 kids the entire time other than during their naps.
on one hand, we gave her employment on the weekend that she otherwise wouldnt have had. on the other hand, we made her do work for us and deprived her of our weekend.
what's a fair amount of pay?

Assuming she was working about 10 hrs a day while you were away, I would pay $20 an hour so that works out to $200 per day or $400 total

I would ask her how much she wants! And then decide!

I’d personally give 12 hours at 20 an hour. So $480
I’d also probably add an extra 50 as a per diem tip for the 2 days
I would not have the mindset that giving her the extra weekend hours is a favor and should somehow be factored into this decision. Most people don’t want to work their entire weekend, so you need to make it worth her while

At
Least this. I would pay more if she didn’t have a day off at all. That’s a lot of work for one week

I think you need to pay her more than hourly. You need to factor in the two nights that she was stuck with you guys even if she wasn’t technically working. I would say 750/800 sounds about right

In general you should work this out with her in advance.
