I am looking for suggestions for what food to have on Simchat Torah at our shul. We want to have some items that people can eat/snack on in between hakafot, etc. We don't have to have a full kiddush. Should we have salads and kugels or just cake, cookies and coffee?

Kugels, cakes
Lots of drinks including water and seltzers besides sodas/ alcohol let’s the men hydrate properly…

A Crackers herring type kiddish?

( Usually the shul has a more substantial kiddish bc of how long it is )

If people are making kiddush you need to have mezonot, so your basis has to be cakes etc.

If you want a savoury option you can have crackers and herrings and spreads.

If you want to stick with sweet, have more cakes, biscuits etc.

Fruit and vegetable platters would go well with either option.

And as said above, plenty to drink. (Not alcoholic.)
