100k NIS. just for the hall which includes food, basic decor.

The Takana style halls vary in price, but my brothers wedding in beitar last year was 52k nis ( 30k per side) for the wedding night - 350 pp minimum ( most takana halls are like this) all included, hall, food, photographer, band, basic decor (kallah chair setup, centerpieces silk flowers and chandeliers)
In $ that is a little under 15k, which is less then an american takana wedding, but the standard of the wedding is much lower ( halls not as nice, food not as nice)
Does not include:
Clothing/ Hair/Makeup for Wedding Party
Jewlery/gifts
Vort/Sheva Brachos
Setting up the home - in israel you need to buy appliances as rentals don't come with that. |

My question is your paid 100 000 NIS for the wedding? That is way more than a takana wedding in my circles.

We paid 25000nis in Beitar, split it in half for 12500nis per side

My daughter wanted a certain Gan Eruim which is more expensive than a takana hall, but the one she wanted was much cheaper than the standard Ganei Eruim.
I think the whole night was about 65K shekel which we split with the other side. This was 2023.
I want to stress something that someone mentioned above. A takana wedding in Israel is not comparable to a takana wedding in America. My sister made a takana wedding in Lakewood (neither side lived there), and it was cheaper than a takana wedding in Israel and on a much higher standard than any takana wedding here. Actually, on a higher standard that most non-takana weddings I've been to!
