I had a baby recently and the time that he is covered by my insurance is now over (60 days). I reported the birth right after I had him but they still have not added him to our plan. I call them every few days to get an update but there is no one there that is helpful. Anyone have useful thoughts?

If you’re making under the county minimum you can go down there and see(it’s Lower then the state), otherwise you gotta wait it out( I’m still waiting and it’s been many months) please get your baby insurance in the meantime

LRRC 732.942.9292

Or you can drive down to the Board of Social Services on 1027 Hooper Avenue
Or you can walk into CHEMED and see if they can help you

This. They are usually happy to help. You don't need special pull. Just call the number on their website.

Thank you all. LRRC told us to apply for PE but chemed told us that he will get denied because I am on jersey care so it’s an automatic denial.

Are you on horizon? Medicaid will cover your baby for a year. Horizon is the only one that covers for 60 days

You should be able to see the dr and they can wait to bill, since when the baby is approved the coverage date is typically retroactive to when you applied

You can also find out if your pediatrician accepts fee for service Medicaid (not a specific hmo) and bring your hbid card with you. You can check if your dr accepts it by checking this website. It’s the blue and white Medicaid card they mail you before your hmo card
