Hi!
I am currently a speech therapist but would love to become a life coach. Honestly, I have heard a lot of bad rap about the field because there is no "official certification." If I do this, I really want to be properly trained so I can support others with the best tools and the most confidence. Is there a specific course or person who you recommend for training? Any information about the process would be so helpful!

I trained at NYU. They had a great program at the time. I don't know what they are currently offering though.

Whatever you do don't touch the life coach school by Brooke castillo.
There was a program run out of Israel but I don't remember the name.
I'm a big fan of life coaches when they actually teach skills. I've used them for various areas (adhd, business, mindset) but idk where they trained

Unfortunately they get a bad rap for a reason.
You can't diagnose or treat any mental health issues, trauma etc. And many try.
They have no legal or ethical rules. No governing agency or license or education requirements.
I would opt for a real degree and not waste my time on fake certificates that mean nothing... anyone can create a "school for life coaches".
