Usually on and around Rosh Hashanah, I talk with my kids about the year on a global level, how everything was decreed last Rosh Hashanah.
Countries and lives

This year I was starting the conversation and I couldn't think of anything at all other than Oct 7, and everything related to it, the war, antisemitism, etc.
And R Matisyahu Solomons petira.

So I'm asking here.

Help me with the year in review. What happened in the year 5754 that was decreed last Rosh Hashanah.

Question, do you only focus on the bad things that happened or do you include all the good that happened this year?

Biden would step out of the race for president.
Trump would survive 2 assassination attempts, one by mere inches

It feels as if everything pales in comparison to Oct. 7. Events could have happened but they weren't given the usual amount of attention because our main focus was on October 7 and the war going on in Israel.

IDK, other then all the sad deaths we had, I'm blanking too.
R' Mattisyahu petirah
I'm Chabad, we lost some important people this year
The accident of the 2 young men in the catskills
The young bachur Mendel Bluming who was killed

Wait, didn't Rabbi Tzvi Kushelevsky have a baby this year?

Definitely focus on the good things. Did anyone get married? Have a baby? Graduate school and go to the next level? Get a new job? Buy a new house? Take a trip? Buy a new sheitel? Learn how to make sourdough? Get an exercise buddy? Learn a new language on DuoLingo? Finish Shaar HaBitachon (just kidding, you never finish learning that!)
