So when it's cold outside I don't need to ask, can I wear black tights already?

But obviously there are people that want to wear black tights when it's still warm, which is why every year there are multiple posts saying is it normal to wear the black tights already and I don't understand why. I get sweaty & hot. Don't you?

The obsession is simple, Black tights sound cool and attractive, there are community's where wearing black tights is considered rebellious,
so wearing black makes you feel good and elite

LOL that’s a pretty big blanket statement.
Here in Lakewood, plenty of the super yeshivish make a statement about how extremely yeshivish they are by wearing black all summer

I see this ques every year and I don’r understand the obsession either. It’s like asking “when can I start wearing a coat?” The answer is obvious in the same way it’s obvious when you would start wearing tights

I wear black tights (with sneakers) all summer and it’s not to make a statement at all… I like it!

I wear it for comfort reasons and only wear nude if I go out to Simcha etc with nicer shoes. ( happen to really need good arch support- so my feet hurt quickly if I wear pretty shoes- sneakers for the win!)

Just to add, I’m a stay at home mother now (when I worked for years- I totally wore nude pantyhose and nice shoes every day till it got colder weather) but now that I’m just in and out for picking up kids and errands here and there, so I’m most comfy in black tights and sneakers.
