Apparently ppl are emptying the shelves in the stores but I only just heard about this. Should I be stocking up on dry goods like we did during COVID?

Most of our basics that come from overseas will be affected

Bananas, French cheeses, Irish butter, salt, sugar, cacao, and wine are some of the things that come through East Coast ports, so we’ll be seeing shortages of those products if the strike continues.

Other than salt and sugar (and maybe cacao!) that doesn't sound so terrible.
I assume non-food items will be impacted more seriously.
