I was recently in someone's house and noticed that they used some sort of strong mounting tape to mount their mezuzahs. I thought it's such a great idea, since every time we take outs down to get them checked and put them back up, dh has such a hard time with them.
Do you use any kind of mounting tape for mezuzahs? Do you know what type would be best for that?

I didn't use a strong tape
Maybe it's called painters tape?

Double sided tape
Many mezuza cases some with it already. Go to a Judaica store and ask them for mezuza cases that don’t need to be nailed/screwed in

Painters tape is used to tape off where the painter doesn't want the paint to bleed. Not applicable to hang anything

And then you just open the case and take out the scroll when it needs to be checked?

If you can do that while it's still up then good idea. I had one on a brick door frame with double sided tape. I didn't think to do that and I had to tear it with the paint off. Was the hardest one to remove. I don't know why I didn't think of just pulling the plug out and taking out the scroll.

We use the velcro tape from command. Works great and you can take it on and off often.

I was told it’s actually better to use nails. In one place I lived the doorposts were metal and I wasn’t able to bang a nail in or drill through so I was told I could tape. It seems you can use tape if it’s your only choice but it’s not the best choice.
