Growth Horomone | Imamother

I’m trying to reach out to people who can maybe help, I have a 12 year old who is extremely short and our insurance doesn’t cover medication for the growth horomone shots. Our endocrinologist gave us a prescription however with patient assistance it’s between $750-$1000 a month for the next 2 years. It’s not affordable for me at all at this point and was trying any way to get the medication possibly from someone whose child has the same dose and gets it’s free from insurance but isn’t taking it for whatever reason.

I don’t know the details but a friend of mine is getting from a different country for a fraction of the price.
I’m hoping someone can provide you more information on it.

Look for coupons for your medication. Or go to a cvs and ask them to help you with it. They make coupons that cover almost all of it.

Does she live in the US and getting from a different country? Or she lives in a different country and gets it for cheaper

Also does your insurance cover nothing or just not the one your doctor prescribed? Have them try getting a different one approved.

I’m on United refuah healthshare .They don’t cover prescriptions.

It might be worth looking into a prescription insurance or getting a better plan for just this child.

In the us getting from a country in the south.
I think her dr even helped her out with it.

I have great insurance and still pay out of pocket for growth hormone. Not all carriers will approve for short stature.

Try calling the drug company. They often have a copay assistance program.
I don’t pay anything between that and my insurance.

This is why I don't just use any endocrine Dr. it helps to use the top in the field. My Dr. words it in a way that insurance ends up covering it but my child does need it. If your child is short and will end up reaching a normal height then no insurance would cover.
