I know Kidichic pants is great and stays a rich black but it doesn’t work for my kids. Any suggestions of a black pants that doesn’t get this washed out look and stays a rich dark black?

Do you use laundry detergent with optical brighteners? Always use detergents intended for dark colored clothes

No, I wash them only with dark and with cold water. Black jean pants always get a little washed out. That’s what I’ve been having till now.

Always wash inside out.
Natural fibers colors do fade with time. You may dye them it home with DYI dyes.
