very young families use their FS to cover generously and as their kids get older, and age out of wic, and eat more it comes tighter and tighter. And also sometimes a hard adjustment.

we have food stamps. I am very grateful. I have a very large family. Honestly, I probably buy some things I wouldn’t buy if I didn’t have food stamps, but I am not buying fancy snacks or chocolates or meats. I never buy prechecked greens, and for YT, like many many yidden, I buy some meat and desserts and treats. I truly hope I would buy them even if I didn’t have FS.

We don’t and I’m the op of the living beyond your means post. All our food goes on the credit card, we don’t buy any extra or luxuries, super frugal. And yet we are too “wealthy” for food stamps
