My mother gifted her intricate candlesticks to me when I got married 25 years ago. I had them polished and lacquered. They are starting to appear dull and have a few black spots on them. What can I do to fix them?

You need to get the lacquer professionally removed, then either have them re-lacquered or go au naturel and polish regularly. Lacquer doesn't last forever; 25 years is a better run than most.

Lacquer gets ruined from drips of hot wax- it leave marks. Have the lacquer removed, then redone, and then only use Neronim in those deep glass cups going forward, since candles drip.
