My sister is getting married after succos. All the boys ages 6 and up are wearing suit jackets. Little boys under 3 are wearing cute sweaters. My 4 year old is in between everyone. Too little for a suit to be comfortable, and too big for sweaters to his aunts wedding. He’s small, so looks around age 3.
What does that age boy wear to a wedding? Are vests in style? They look a lot more comfortable for an active little boy than a suit.

I would match him to one of the groups if everyone else is matching. Either a suit maybe with a turtleneck instead of a shirt and take off the jacket after pictures or the sweater maybe with a more mature pair of pants depending on what the toddlers are wearing on bottom.

At 4 you can choose either a cute shell with a nice suit jacket and nice pants (I like lil legs) or a cute pair of shorts.
Or a sweater with also nice pants and matching yarmulka.

Jewish stores have soft button down blazer style sweaters meant for that age.

So it seems many of you are suggesting a shell instead of a shirt. That’s not an issue for him to wear a white button down shirt- he loves wearing it just like his big brothers.
Would a soft jacket work over a real button shirt?
Would it look strange to put him in a real suit?
I’m assuming nobody is wearing vests anymore since nobody said anything?

It's not that a button down shirt is an issue it's just that he will look more his age with a tshirt and a blazer. Nobody is really wearing vests anymore.

Thank you everyone! So no vest.
He really wants to wear a white button shirt like his Tatty and big brothers. Any links to a blazer or something that wouldn’t look too “stuffy” or adult-like?

Just have him wear the suit like everyone else. He'll feel big.
