I woreblack yesterday because it was cold and chilly.
Today I'll be in nude.
My rule is, if my kids are in long sleeve and long pants I can be in black lol

I'm asking this question sincerely.
Can someone explain to me what the obsession is with black tights?
When it's cold and wintery, of course I like to wear black tights because it's cozy and warm.
So when it's cold outside I don't need to ask, can I wear black tights already?
But obviously there are people that want to wear black tights when it's still warm, which is why every year there are multiple posts saying is it normal to wear the black tights already and I don't understand why. I get sweaty & hot. Don't you?

It's funny but I actually think I sweat more in nude. Something about the nylon that is sort of plasticky and makes me uncomfortable. In the summer months, my stockings come off and socks go on at a certain time of the day.
I find black tights to be more comfy in general, and they "expire" somewhat later in the day for me.
I usually don't wear them till Succos, but I'll see, this year it's later in the season. Meanwhile it's still too warm IMVHO, but if the temperature drops to low 60's consistently I'll reconsider.

I switched over this week because the weather in NY has been cold and rainy and black tights just felt right.
as I always say "do what's right for you".

When will you switch?
Is Yom Kippur the official time if it’s not very hot? |
It's only minhag to wear white on Yom Kippur, but it has long historical roots, and at least as much validity as switching tights. If you wear white on Yom Kippur, do you wear black tights with it? I think that would look odd.

I've seen a look of wearing a winter-white (more of a cream) with black.

I don’t get more sweaty because of the color tights wearing.
In the summer I wear skin color tights and I’m sweaty because it’s summer.
I change colors when it looks right for the clothing I’m wearing.
Feels the same on my body just gives a different look.

It’s the kind of thing that if you know, you know. Not really interested in hearing people’s opinions about not caring what others do.

Many people find the fabric and the fit of opaque tights more comfortable than sheer stockings, so they prefer to wear tights in the warmest temperature in which tights will be tolerable. The question is really, "is it cool enough that I won't overheat at midday if I wear tights, because I don't like wearing stockings and maxi skirts are limiting."
As a parallel, you'll see jokes about women pulling out all their cozy sweaters as soon as September hits, even though it's still 85° outside. Cool weather clothing is often more comfortable.
