Any idea why I can't shop there anymore? Has this happened to anyone else?

When I called them they told me they can't give me a reason.. It's in the terms and conditions.

Did you return too many items? Did a charge back on your card?

Did you abuse their return policy? Returned damaged clothing? Disputed charges?
Anything you can think of?

They probably felt like you abused their return policy.

I ordered, but ended up keeping very little. They block for that?

They suspect you've worn the clothes once and then returned it. Especially if you order and return most of it regularly.

That is the reason

Almost every store will block sales when someone is returning a higher percentage of items than is "normal". Amazon will do this and it is well known.

It is not just on-line but other stores will ban you for excessive returns even if the items returned are not damaged or worn - just buying and returning excessively

By your own post, you ended up keeping very little

You cost them money and are an "undesirable" customer as they don't want someone like you.

I order online all the time and return plenty (including from Zara) and never had an issue or been blocked. When purchasing clothing and shoes online it's expected that much of it will have to be returned.

Zara had a terrible return policy. They sent me back a dress because they claimed I wore it. I did not. But the returns probably caused it. I’ve heard of stores doing that

Keeping a "nice amount" versus "very little" LOL 🤫🤷🏼‍♀️

Large retailers have algorithms used and once your returns exceed a certain percentage you are "banned" because there is no reason to retain a customer who loses money for them.

The algorithm would base it on numbers and value as a percentage of purchase and what is returned/what is kept.

I never wore their clothes and returned them. Or disputed charges. Now at the beginning of the season I buy and return. That's the point of ordering online. I've done this with everyone and never had a problem. Sometimes you keep more. Sometimes less. We buy a ton on Amazon and return plenty, too.

I've been blocked before, I disputed a charge on a return that they said they never got even though tracking said it was delivered to them.

Have you made a really large order at once? I think companies don't like that, it may be better to make multiple smaller orders if you may have lots of returns.

Just my 2 cents l.

Can't you just create a new account with a different email address and pay with a different credit card?
How could they ban you if you open a new account?

How do they know which customer you are? Is it an email you log in with? The address?

If I were you and needed something from zara I would try using a different email, different credit card and possible an address of a neighbor or friend…

Or can they detect your IP address?

I doubt stores do it after one such occurrence. It would have to be a repeated offence.
Also, doesn't Zara particularly watch certain zip codes? Maybe the thresholds for returns there is lower.
