My nephew ( 18) lived with us for 3 months this past summer..The whole time he was here the basement had an odd smell could be his creams, cologne..I'm notnsure..he moved out a month ago and my bathroom still has an odor..I've used the fan..I sprayed all the walls and tiles with clorox..I used grout brushes, I mopped and changed the shower curtains and the smell lingers..FYI he flooded the bathroom everyday for 3 months and left soaking towels on the floor for days..Is there anything else I can do..it's my guest room and I'm a bit embarrassed!

Try airing out the basement, open any doors and windows.
Spray the entire bathroom with lemon juice/vinegar and baking soda.
If you have carpet down there pour on baking soda and wait an hour before vacuuming. Same for the mattress.
Hope this helps!

If the bathroom was literally flooded every day you could have a mold problem, hopefully not. Start with ventilating and drying everything out. You may eventually need to call a mold testing and remediation expert. Hopefully not.

Try an ozone machine but if the source of the odor is still there it won't necessarily help.

An open container of ground coffee will help get rid of smells.
