S\O what should Home Ec teach?

Some people are bring back Home Ec others it's a wast of time. Some people want to know what Home Ec should teach. I put together a list of some stuff.

Basic car maintenance
-How to change the oil, wipers, spark plugs, battery
-how to check air and change a tire
-How to fill up the washer fluid and all other fluids(unless your in Jersey,cause Jersey girls don't pump gas' Wink

')
-What all the symbols on the dash board means
-How to jump start a car

Basic home maintenance
-How to check and change filters from dyer vents to HVAC
-Where all shut off vales like water, gas, electric,ect.. is and how to turn them off
-Why you need different type of electric outlets in kitchen and bath then the rest of the house.
-Other basic maintenance, can't think of more individualized right now.

Some other stuff
-Why you should never put water on a grease fire
-Different type of fabrics and how to get stains out
-Different type of hair and how to care for them.
-How to take care and repair bicycles
-How to hold a knife
-How different ingredients mix together
-How to thread a needle and sew a button, hem, zipper
-Lawn care
