Hi!
We are looking into going away for pesach this year and are considering European programs as they appear much more affordable. Has anyone been on any of these programs and would recommend or not recommend it? It is hard to find information online and I would love any information from people who have done or have looked into it!

The Normandie Hotel in Bournemouth. Mostly older ppl. Very few young families.
It's on a very basic level. But the food is good. Rooms are cleaned daily.
If you're okay with the above, then it might be a good fit. The crowd is majority heimish, a few shtreimlech too.

They are more affordable because they have much less food than the American programs, I’ve heard from a couple people that they were actually hungry most of the time!

Lol that makes sense!
We were in US recently and went to a basic not fancy hotel similar to the Normandie.
The food was just beyond.
So much of it and constant buffets and extravagance.

I've been to Europe for Pesach BH 5 times. I much prefer the European programs to the American ones (BH I've been going way for Pesach x 30 years) They're smaller, more diverse, more low key. Most are buffet (which we prefer) and we love that a lot of the gluttony found domestically isn't there.
They don't spend a lot of money on things like 'lighting specialists' and they don't usually have star speakers or star performers. Again, it's low key. But you're in Europe, so it's an amazing experience.
Oh, and I"ve definitely never gone hungry. And we don't bring a suitcase of snacks from home either.
Overall we love that you're getting a vacation, not jut a yom tov. So pick a place that has interesting touring (most places have organized tours, for an additional fee) Look into the availability of flights from your home city to that city to see if the dates and times will work for you. Make sure you check if the program is an adherence with your kashrus needs (gebrokst/non gebrokst/kitniyos/non kitniyos etc) Narrow it down and then do your research. There are facebook Pesach program groups that you should get on. Search the group, or ask your own questions.

There a website that has a lot of the Pesach programs listed. Also tells you if they serve gebroks, shmura Matza, have separate swimming..

Galitzky and Netzer are both excellent programs I hear- I’ve never been but know others who have.
Netzer is a lot of English, galitzky a lot of Americans

They cost way more than the Normandie. However, are on a much higher standard plus you get to be in a beautiful scenic place

We may have different criteria for what we like so I’d advise checking totallyjewishtravel.com for some initial listings and joining the Facebook group I recommended above

There is a person that does a hotel program every year. He usually changes the location so that people should not figure out what he does. He is very cheap. He buys very little food and everyone is hungry by his program. There is tons of grabbing of food since there is not enough food for everyone. Just make sure that you get references from people you trust. I personally know 3 people that went to the (scammer) hotel for peasach.
