What first food do you feed your baby? And around what age do you give it?
I usually give a chicken bone (drumstick) that’s fully cleaned at 5-6 months.
Curious for other ideas

Not recommended to start with fruit, apple sauce, banana, etc as many babies get used to sweet and will not even try anything not sweet after.

I do BLW, so I'll start with a food that is soft enough to gnaw on but firm enough to hold. Avocado slice, steamed apple slice, a piece of boiled potato, a chunk of omelet... they all work.

Chicken stock (not technically "solid" but it was first non-breastmilk food)

Baby food veggies mixed w breast milk

Egg yolk mixed w breast milk

Then banana, avocado

Started at 6mo. I read studies showing that the reason babies need to start solids around that age is they begin to need more iron, protein, and vit A & D than breast milk or formula provide. Therefore, baby should very quickly be eating meat and animal products which are the richest sources of those vitamins and of protein. That's why I started with chicken stock and egg yolks.
