Hi!
I lost a significant amount of weight bh.
I want to keep it off but I feel that at this point I would need a partner or a sponsor to help me with it.

I need someone to report to kind of.
Email my meal plan for the day before or after.
Email when I know I'm going to have a challenge.
Commit to certain things like reading and Journaling.

I'd like to do this with anyone that is also interested in something like this.

I know myself and know what works for me.
I already know that not all of the OA rules are doable for me.

I mainly plan food in advance, I stick to the food plan, I exercise, I journal and I read.
It really works when I do it even without the other stuff.

Thank you everyone.

I guess I will rephrase this.
I am looking for someone to do this together with me.

Not someone to take care of me for free. Smile
Not someone to be a sponsor. Smile

Op, wishing you lots of luck and success and I hope you find someone and it works for you. For those who don't know, the 12 steps are integral to the recovery process in OA, without them the program is being used like a diet and support group. If that is what you are looking for it is perfectly fine, I just want to clarify for others here that it is not truly OA but just an accountability buddy or diet partner of sorts.
I hope you find someone easily and meet your goals smoothly

Yes yes don't worry. I know I know.

I hope you won't report this sinner to the Bishop that I'm not doing OA exactly and that I'm modifying it. Tongue Out

Its exactly this. I hate the Christianity of this program and the sometimes rigid sponsors.
I also hate the reading material that they want you to read.
The meetings sometimes feel like one endless food addiction sob story.

Its just not what works for me.

Thankfully I have found things that really work for me.
I continue calling it OA because I didn't want to be sued for copyright infringement. Wink

I was wondering how frum people handle the Christianity aspect since it’s most of it.

R shais taub actually wrote a book called god of our understanding where he goes through the 12 steps and how they align with the Torah. There are many who have asked their lor and been told that the steps do not conflict with yiddishkeit. But each can ask their own.
OA is specifically nondenominational and is not a religious philosophy, just a spiritual one. I am sorry that your experience has been different and that you have only met up with rigidity there as there is a lot of understanding and caring with flexibility within the groups too.
I have no issue with your calling whatever you want to do by the name you are most comfortable, I just feel it's important to have an accurate representation for whoever else comes across this thread now or in the future.
For me it has been a huge gift and opportunity for growth and I hope everyone can explore what works for them and aligns with their life.
