How long can I keep challah dough in fridge before braiding

If you can, let us know the secret.
You can make the dough at night and braid in the morning. BUt you are talking about 24 hours in fridge. Ive seen online pple saying you can. But I dont want to be responsible for your challah fail.

You can freeze dough too...
