When davening for someone (not for a refuah shlemah or misheberach) at a time when it's appropriate to use the father's name, but the father is not Jewish, what name is used?

My father is not Jewish but my mother is. People sometimes say bat Abraham , my husband says my maternal grandfathers name who is Jewish

DH’s father isn’t Jewish.
Argument in the meforshim on the Shulchan Aruch whether to do “Ben Avraham” or use the maternal grandfather’s name.
My husband does the latter for being called to the Torah, etc.

My son has a classmate whose father is not Jewish. He is Ben maternal grandfather's name when called for an aliyah.

My father is not Jewish, but his father was, so we use my grandfathers name.

DH's best friend's father is not Jewish. He uses ben Avraham when he's called up to the Torah.

Unless he's there and will be embarrassed, that's the proper way.
Eta, when davning for s/o, we use the moms. Unless Sephardic. Afaik.
