Looking to buy duplo blocks for my children.

Are the copycat ones just as good as you get much more in a box, is it worth it to spend more on the branded ones or are they the same?

Alternatively any other construction toys that you would recommend for a 1.5 year old and 4 year old to play together (mainly for the 4 year old, the younger one likes to join in) preferably things you can buy on Amazon as I am in Israel (They already have mega blocks and magna-tiles)

Thanks!

I think it's worth the extra expense. It's just better and lasts forever.

Nothing compares to real duplo. It also lasts forever. I built up my collection slowly. Was so worth it, it’s still perfect 14 years later.

You can buy secondhand. I wouldn't get off brand.

Duplos last almost forever. I had them for my sons and now my grandkids play with them. We also have some pieces from Duplo-compatible brands. They have not held up nearly as well.

I have a set of duplo and also a compatible set. I do not have them for too long but so far it’s the most played toy in my house. Not sure a 1.5 year old will physically be able to build. My child started playing at 2 and since then didn’t stop. The compatible one works just as good so far. It’s cheaper than duplo but not very cheap.the guy in the store said the only difference is that the colors aren’t as sharp as duplo…. I’m ok with that….. I’ll buy it again in the future.

They are ok. They do t break or anything maybe just a softer click which is good for younger kids.

I buy accessory pieces on Ali express such as fires, swings animals ect I give it one at a time for shabbos and it adds a lot to the set and works just fine.
