My son is beginning kindergarten now so I need to start looking into boys schools for next year.
People are suggesting that I apply to Nesivas Hatorah, Even Tisroel, and Ohr Shraga, but no one I know actually sends to those schools.
Can anyone give info about what ‘type’ these yeshivas are , and how yeshivish we have to be to fit in there ? (we are yeshivish but not VERY , and are from OOT)

Those are my 3 choices. I describe myself as middle of the road leaning yeshivish. I’m more of an oot type of person. Would love to hear more about them. I’ve been impressed with boys I’ve met from all 3 yeshivos.

I don't send to any of these schools, but I would compare to orchos chaim and ohr yehuda. Frum families, not uber yeshivish.

Op you sound like us. We ended up sending to Cheder Bais Yisroel and are thrilled!!! It a warm mix, def lot of oot families, small school

I sent 2 boys to Ohr Shraga, it’s an energetic, happy environment, the building was just finished and they’ve moved in. Lots of simple yeshivish ish families, really great menahel and rebbeim

Those were my sister's choices a few years ago too (she sends to Even Yisrael and is THRILLED). She's also middle of the road yeshivish, solid frum, not super-in-towny but we aren't from OOT either. My family is more simple/chilled in that way. Filtered smartphones, not alot of technology but not super-sheltered.
She wanted either Ohr Shraga or Even Yisrael, with Nesivos as a backup. I think Nesivos is a little more trendy type.

I also send to ohr shraga & am thrilled.
It has a spectrum of yeshivish, jpf families.

All of the schools mentioned above are great. We applied/ looked into all of them.
